The
law firm of Mennemeier, Glassman
& Stroud LLP is pleased to announce that
Kristine L. Burks has become associated with the
firm. Prior to joining Mennemeier,
Glassman & Stroud, Burks was Senior Law Clerk
to the Honorable Frank C. Damrell, Jr. of the United States
District Court, Eastern District of California. She was
previously employed by the law firm of Damrell, Nelson,
Schrimp, Pallios, Pacher & Silva until December 1997.
Burks graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law
with honors in 1995. Burks has also been employed as an
Adjunct Professor, teaching Legal Process to first year
students at McGeorge School of Law for the past two years.
Ms. Burks will be practicing in the area of civil litigation,
with an emphasis on federal court actions involving complex
commercial claims, employment claims, and intellectual property.
Susan
D. Christian has joined the Law
Office of Stewart Katz to continue representing
plaintiffs in civil rights and employment litigation. Christian
returns to private practice in Sacramento after serving
for five years as the supervising attorney of the King Hall
Civil Rights Clinic at the UC Davis School of Law.
Downey
Brand Seymour & Rohwer
is expanding its insurance law practice with the addition
of Denise Jarman Fischer. Fischer's practice focuses
on insurance litigation, including coverage and bad faith.
Fischer, who will serve as counsel to the firm, has represented
clients in the construction, environmental, medical and
automotive industries on insurance issues for 20 years.
Fischer received her BA from UC Santa Barbara and her JD
from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
Diana
Bushard is a new addition to the business department
of Downey Brand Seymour & Rohwer.
Bushard received her BA from UC Davis in 1993 and her law
degree from the University of the Pacific's McGeorge School
of Law in 1997. Prior to joining Downey Brand, Bushard was
Vice President of Legal Affairs for Waave Telecommunications,
Inc. in Sacramento.
