Women Lawyers of Sacramento Events

On September 14, 2006, Women Lawyers of Sacramento (WLS) held their 13th annual ArtFest at the Julia Morgan House and Garden. The evening was replete with local artistry, fine food, music, spirits and a silent auction. Proceeds of the event fund grants to local charitable organizations and scholarships for law students.

WLS's Jamie Errecart and Stacy Mounir organized the event which included photography by Ken Rabiroff, Sacramento Lawyer's own photographer, Pat Silva, a local bead artist, Deborah Johansen-Cook, a painter, Diane Carlson, a painter from Fair Oaks, Laura Kneppel, a potter and sculptor, and Nikki Solone, a pet portraitist, among other artists. The silent auction incorporated autographed sports memorabilia, a wine tour in Napa Valley, dinner and a theater production in Sacramento, tickets to the Discovery Museum and the Crocker Art Museum and more.

On September 25, 2006, WLS held a mixer for area law students at the Drobny Law Offices. Special guests included Justice Kathleen Butz, Third District Court of Appeal, and Judge Emily Vasquez, Sacramento County Superior Court.

Also, note that on November 6, 2006 at the Sacramento Discovery Museum in Old Sacramento, WLS is co-sponsoring with the Sacramento County Bar Association an evening with the California Supreme Court. To obtain tickets, check the WLS website http://www.womenlawyers-sacramento.org
