Barristers' Club News

C. MorrisThis summer the Sacramento Barristers' Club has a number of exciting seminar opportunities and social events that will benefit both new lawyers and more experienced practitioners. The Barristers' Club events are open to all members of the Sacramento County Bar who have been practicing fewer than 5 years, or are younger than 36.

On April 22nd we hosted a great seminar for beginning lawyers on marketing from the client's perspective with Jeff Starksy at Beutler Corporation. On May 24th we are holding a seminar on Legal and Ethical Obligations of Non-Profit Board Members. Our Law and Motion Seminar will be held on June 7th. The Federal Nuts and Bolts Seminar will be held on June 26th at the Federal Courthouse and will cover how federal court differs from state court and what attorneys need to know about the procedures and local rules in the Eastern District. We will hold our Appellate Practice Seminar on July 13th at the Third District Court of Appeal.

Join us for one of our fun networking events on May 11th at Crawdads on the River - it will be a great chance to mingle with other Sacramento area Barristers. In late July we are holding our Summer Associate Reception, in honor of the Minority Fellowship program. Experienced attorneys, judges, and government officials will join together to welcome younger counsel into the practice of law. To receive more information and e-mail notifications on these, and all of our events, contact Membership Chair, Shane Singh at ssingh@ kringandchung.com.
