On February 16, 2006, the Barristers' Club hosted its annual Supreme Court Reception at the Sutter Club. Jacob Flesher, the Executive Vice President for the Barristers' Club, organized the event. In addition to the Justices of the California Supreme Court, the Barristers' Club hosted many distinguished members of the legal community, including judges from the Sacramento County Superior Court, Federal District Court for the Eastern District, and Third District Court of Appeal. Richard W. Painter, Associate White House Counsel and Chief Ethics Counsel to the President, White House, and Senior Administration Appointees, was the keynote speaker. He discussed his involvement in ethical issues, including Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, and his role as counsel to the President. The Barristers' Club wishes to thank all those who participated in the Reception.
