Roger A Dreyer, CAL-ABOTA's 2004 Trial Lawyer of the Year
|
Sacramento Lawyer Roger A. Dreyer was elected the 43rd recipient of the Trial Lawyer of the Year Award for the California Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Since its inception in 1958, the National American Board of Trial Advocates' mission has been the preservation of the civil jury trial right guaranteed by the 7th Amendment, its members represent equally the plaintiff and defense bars as well as judges, and encourage and promote civility and professionalism in the practice of law. The California Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates dates back to the 1960s, but like the National Chapter, the common thread is the preservation of the civil right to jury trial. Of the 43 recipients of this prestigious award, only one other besides Roger Dreyer was elected from the Sacramento Valley Chapter, that being Morton Friedman in 1988. Roger exemplifies the qualifications of this award by having a distinguish career as a plaintiff's attorney, being an excellent advocate, having a superb reputation of high ethics and fair play and partipating in several outstanding verdicts notably, his 2003 win against the 2001 Trial Lawyer of the Year, Jim Brosnahan and the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, wherein Roger represented Al Davis and the Raiders Football Organization.
CAL-ABOTA honored Roger at their Hawaii Conference in November 2004. The Sacramento Valley Chapter of CAL-ABOTA honored Roger at a reception in Sacramento on December 3, 2004 attended by ABOTA members of the Sacramento Valley Chapter, distinguished members of the state and federal bench, friends and family.
