Bella Vista High School's Moot Court
Team Wins National Moot Court Title

The moot court team representing Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks earned the first-place Team Award at the National High School Moot Court Competition which was held on April 9th and 10th at American University's Washington School of Law in Washington, D.C. The competition included 11 teams from six states and the District of Columbia.

Tyson Johnson earned the highest Individual Award among the 45 students who participated in this event. The team also consists of Roopika Subramanian, Maneesh Sethi and Shawn Gogia. Gogia and Sethi were also named as Semi-Finalists.

The Attorney Coach of this team is Tim Schooley who is Supervising Attorney for the California Appeals Court. The Teacher Coach is Mike Erickson, a history teacher at Bella Vista.

Bella Vista High is located in Fair Oaks. Mike Erickson has taught honors history and other courses there for over 30 years. Tyson and Maneesh are seniors, and Shawn and Roopika are juniors.
