Come to the ABAS Law Foundation Wine Tasting May 27
By Yoshinori H. T. Himel, President, ABAS Law Foundation

The Pavilions Courtyard will once again be the setting for the ABAS Law Foundation's annual Wine Tasting and Auction. This second annual event will be held the evening of Thursday, May 27, 2004, from 6:00 to 8:30. Pavilions Shopping Plaza is located on Fair Oaks Boulevard between Howe and Munroe.

Several Northern California wineries will be pouring, and there will be tasty hors d'oeuvres. Art, fine wines, and other desirable items will be up for silent auction.

Proceeds from this event provide major support for law student scholarships given by the ABAS Law Foundation, the charitable arm of the Asian Pacific Islander legal community. These scholarships are awarded to nurture local API law students with an outstanding record of community service, as well as need and academic achievement. Demand for scholarships is increasing; this year, the Foundation received a record number of applications.

It will be an evening of fun and education on the merits of different Northern California wines. Those who came last year remember that it was a great party! See the article and photo spread in Sacramento Lawyer, September/October 2003. The cost is just $30 per person in advance, payable to ABAS Law Foundation, 555 University Avenue, Suite 235, Sacramento 95825; or $35 at the door. Come, bring a friend, and enjoy it!
