Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP annouces the selection of James E. Houpt to serve as a partner in its Sacramento office. Houpt has litigated a wide range of business disputes including antitrust, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty, unfair competition, and trademark and copyright infringement. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School and his B.A., with distinction, from California State University. The Sacramento law firm of Trainor Robertson is pleased to announce that Todd A. Schaffer has joined the firm's Business Litigation Group. Schaffer will assist the firm's clients with their litigation matters concerning real property, land use and development issues. Schaffer earned his law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2000, and received his bachelor of science degree from California State University at Sacramento in 1989. He is a member of the Sacramento County Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Litigation Section of the State Bar of California.

Trainor Robertson also announced that trial attorney Robert M. Thompson has become a director and shareholder with the firm. Thompson earned his law degree from the University of San Francisco in 1973 and his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Davis in 1970. He has 29 years of experience with dozens of successful trials to his credit and will assist the firm's clients with their litigation matters primarily focused in the areas of construction defect litigation and business litigation.
