May
Fee Arbitration
Training Session Scheduled For May
On
Thursday, May 3, 2001,
the California State Bar's Committee on Mandatory
Fee Arbitration will conduct a training session for
members of its own panel of arbitrators.
SCBA
has accepted an invitation to participate in this
event, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. and take between
two and three hours. The site for the training session
has not yet been selected.
The
panel will consist of members of the State Bar Committee,
including Larry Lawson of Roseville and Rudy Michaels
of Sacramento.
The
current members of the county fee arbitration panel
will attend in order to be initiated to the process
or, if experienced, to be brought up-to-date. Arbitrators
from neighboring areas will be formally invited, but
the meeting will be open to everyone who may be interested,
including non-lawyers.
Admission
will be free, MCLE credit will be available and, with
a little bit of luck, there may be refreshments. Mark
your calendars and look for a follow-up announcement
in next month's Sacramento Lawyer.
