Barrister of the Month: Ashley West

Ashley West, a new associate attorney with the law firm of Weintraub Genshlea Chediak Sproul, has been named Barrister of the Month. Ms. West joined the firm's Corporate and Real Estate Group, where her practice will focus on corporate and real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing and development.

Ms. West graduated from Vanderbilt Law School in 2000 and then practiced in Missouri, Florida and California. In November, Ms. West left Pillsbury Winthrop LLP and accepted an offer to join Weintraub Genshlea Chediak Sproul beginning February 1, 2005. Prior to joining Weintraub, Ms. West closed approximately $3 billion in mergers and acquisitions in the hotel, restaurant and retirement facility industries, assisted with approximately $2 billion in secured financing transactions, including conduit financing and mezzanine financing transactions, provided general corporate advice, formed over 150 corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies and drafted agreements for entertainers and event sponsors. Ms. West spent the past few months volunteering for WEAVE, Inc. (Women Escaping A Violent Environment), and the YMCA Model Youth & Government program In her free time, Ms. West enjoys running, swimming, biking, reading and traveling.
