SCBA and Sacramento Superior Court Celebrate Law Day

The Sacramento County Bar Association and the Sacramento Superior Court celebrated Law Day on May 2, 2005 with a luncheon at the Firehouse Restaurant in Old Sacramento. Joel Miliband, a member of the State Bar Board of Governors, delivered the keynote address in place of State Bar President John Van de Kamp, who was unable to make his scheduled address due to a death in his family. Sacramento Superior Court Presiding Judge Michael Virga presented awards to local high school students who won the Law Day Essay and Poster Contest. Women Lawyers of Sacramento President Barbara O'Hearn presented the France Newell Carr Award to Pauline Gee. Heather Tiffee of the Voluntary Legal Services Program presented the June Black Award to Danny Moore.
