Courthouse Steps

The law firm of Best Best & Krieger LLP announced the addition of three new attorneys to its Sacramento office.

Ann M. Siprelle has joined Best Best & Krieger LLP's Sacramento office as a partner with the firm's public law practice group. With more than fifteen years of experience, she specializes in the representation of private and public entities in all areas of municipal, public agency, land use and environmental law. She serves as City Attorney for the City of Woodland and the City of Escalon, and General Counsel to the Florin Resource Conservation District, Elk Grove Water Service, and the East Palo Alto Sanitary District. She has provided legal services, including litigation, to a variety of special districts and private entities on public law, land use and CEQA issues. Before joining Best Best & Krieger, Ms. Siprelle was a shareholder of Kronick, Moskovitz, Tiedemann & Girard. Ms. Siprelle has given seminar presentations co-sponsored by the California Special Districts Association, Association of California Water Agencies and League of California Cities on California's open meeting law and on directors' liabilities and immunities. Ms. Siprelle received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and earned her law degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law, College of William and Mary.

Janice D. Magdich has also joined Best Best & Krieger LLP. Ms. Magdick, formerly associated with Herum Crabtree Brown of Stockton, received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the Pacific and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. While at McGeorge, Ms. Magdich was a member of the Roger J. Traynor Honor Society and received honors distinction in McGeorge's Trial Preparation and Advocacy Program. Ms. Magdich's practice will continue in municipal law, eminent domain and redevelopment.

Samuel L. Emerson has joined Best Best & Krieger LLP as a new associate. Emerson received his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 2002 and his B.A. in International Relations at Brigham Young University in 1998. Emerson's main area of practice will be litigation.

The Sacramento law firm of Woodruff, O'Hair & Posner, Inc. is pleased to announce that Paula D. Salinger has joined the firm as an associate. The primary practice of the firm is family law. Salinger graduated from McGeorge School of Law in May 2002, and earned her bachelor's degree from California State University, Chico in 1990. Prior to her position as an associate, Salinger was a paralegal for the firm. While at McGeorge, Salinger was a Legislation Analysis staff writer for the McGeorge Law Review, received an award for Honorable Mention Appellee Brief in Appellate Advocacy, and served as a Teaching Assistant for the Appellate Advocacy program. Salinger is a member of Women Lawyers of Sacramento and the Sacramento County Bar Association, and a volunteer for The Keaton Raphael Memorial, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting local children and families with their fight against pediatric cancer.
