1. Who is the SCBA?

SCBA is an association dedicated to increasing public understanding of the rule of law and to enhancing the system of justice.


2. What is the program?

The program will consist of an attorney paired with paralegal or legal secretary who will present information to children about their career.


3. Target audience?

Grades 4 through 6 because children at this age they begin to formulate ideas about who they want to be when they “grow up.”

Kids Law Day is Designed to:

  1. Engage children in fun learning about careers as an attorney, legal secretary, or paralegal.
  2. Showcase legal professionals as role models.
  3. Reinforce learning and innovation, communication, and collaboration skills
  4. Presentations will last no
    more than an hour.

Pathway to

Secondary Education
and Academics


Read, read, read. Use creative and critical thinking skills. Engage in civil discourse, recognize different perspectives, promote your social voice, and become responsible citizens of a democratic society. Get above-average grades and obtain a high school diploma.



Post-Secondary Education and Academics


Obtain a bachelor’s degree or a certificate of completion in a paralegal program. Focus on reading, writing, public speaking, computer literacy, and analytical skills. Get above average grades to become competitive among peers.


Civility and Character Development


Participate in social, academic, and athletic activities that will encourage development of civic life, and positive and meaningful interaction with peers and superiors.



Career Development


Obtain internships and

on-the- job training. Embark on a career by working for a corporation, government agency, or non-profit organization. Be passionate about succeeding, continually set and accomplish challenging goals.
